From this page you can contribute your ideas, or work samples of students, to be shared. Use the form below to send a message to Global Words with your contribution. Help your students to ensure that materials in work samples don’t contain copyright material that can’t be used under a Creative Commons license.
There is also a Facebook page, and a Feedback page with a short survey designed for us to better understand how Global Words is used, to improve it over time, and to help design professional learning around the resource.
Teacher created content
Feeling more ambitious? The Global Words resources are also intended as open educational resources and are Creative Commons licensed. The units of work have been designed so that you can re-use the HTML files and edit downloaded units using software such as Adobe Dreamweaver to create or customise your own resources. You can also share your own user-generated units of work with English teaching colleagues via Global Words, subject to editing, quality assurance and copyright checks.
If you don’t have access to the right software or the confidence to go so far as creating your own digital resources, you can also download a template (.doc 246 KB) for Global Words units of work that, subject to assessment, can then be edited and converted to html for you. The template is also useful to draft content, before creating a HTML version, and you can easily paste Word content into Dreamweaver.
